Reach Information:

This reach is entirely in a restricted-access portion of the Bull Run Watershed. Dam 1 was constructed in 1929 and is a gravity-arch dam, unprecedented at the time of its construction. The consulting engineer for the dam's design and construction was D.C. Henny, who later consulted on the construction of Hoover Dam on the Nevada/Arizona border.
